This just instantly popped out at me. The text is just so elaborate and crazy and colorful that if immediately attracts the audience. It has this new crossbreeding of old style and new style. The only thing is with all the design, it might get a little confusing to read -Katie Belloff

Philographics, a collection of minimalist designs to explain philosophy by graphic designer “GEX”.  I think this is a great idea, and would buy the book if it were published.  The type chosen for the title and description on each page is appropriate for minimalism in that it is sans serif and small in scale.  You can see more on the website.  -Trini

Some of my favourites. Interesting how the classics are the best.

This is exactly how I feel. I love classic fonts and this is a great example of why. They’re so elegant in some ways and in others very simple and professional. -Katie Belloff

“June” - Hand drawn typography by Kiev based group SHCH Graphics

This took me a minute to get, but it reminds me of the math equation flyer that Jordan made for class. This is a beautifully elegant and colorful hand drawn type, and the play between the two words “june” and “love” the it creates is really interesting-Katie Belloff

I was blown away when I realized this type was made by skin/ I love how handmade it looks (and it literally was) and how you can see all the impressions and lines from the skin in the letters. Still, I think this would function as a type for very specialized things and not really anything else-Katie Belloff

When I first saw this I couldn’t stop looking at it, it’s just so elegant and intericut. But I don’t think it would really function as a typeface for anything other then a title or a one word sort of thing because of that face-Katie Belloff

rough work

I found the and though it was really interesting to see someone designing a type by hand. Since we have such advanced technology, i assumed most of it was done on the computer, it just makes me smile to see someone putting in the time manually. I was also really attracted to the scratchy lines of some of the typefaces depicted-Katie Belloff
